Until recently I was the Information Technology Manager at a research and
development 'start-up' in San Francisco involved in the development
of connection free, spread spectrum, multiple access, satellite protocols which interface
with TCP/IP and developing a protocol for a satellite-based Internet product.
For some six years previously, I ran the corporate network along with much of the engineering
QA testing which were integrated into the network infrastructure.
Prior to that I was MIS Manager of a San Francisco printing and graphic
arts company where I also installed and ran the network as well as integrating
commercial production Xerographic printers into the network and also managed the on-demand
graphic arts department.
These positions were essentially one-person jobs wherein I physically installed, administered
and managed networks of up to 85 workstations and provided personnel help-desk support.
